Ceramic wares for the outdoor generation
handmade by Romina - Glenorchy, NZ
Working predominantly in stoneware, I design and produce small-batch collections that balance form and function. I'm drawn to natural and organic colours using simple and elegant glazes where I often leave texture to highlight natural beauty in its rawest state. Every piece is individually made by hand with care, allowing subtle variations in shape, texture, and glaze to become authentic expressions of the making process.
HONEST CRAFTSMANSHIP
My work is deeply influenced by the Japanese philosophy of mingei, which celebrates the beauty of everyday, functional objects. Rather than decorative excess, the focus is on evoking a quiet presence, where natural and organic textures invite you into a space of ritual in your every day life.
MEANS & MATTERS
“The explorer has an unwritten responsibility to bring back something for the better good from ones venture, the gift of enriching our understanding of planet earth perhaps? But here lies a predicament: upon finding paradise, should its secrets remain kept to those who find it? It is not an easy choice, but when such a place of beauty has been found, we become responsible, in many ways, for its future.”
